Men who hate women: The misogyny of involuntarily celibate men

This article uses computational data and social science theories to analyze the misogynistic discourse of involuntary celibate (“incel”) community. We analyzed every comment ( N = 3,686,110) produced over 42 months on a popular incel discussion board found that nearly all active participants use terms. Participants used terms one million times at rate 2.4 greater than their neutral for women. The majority participants’ does not increase or decrease with post frequency, suggesting members arrive (rather become) misogynistic. discuss these findings in relation intersectionality, masculinity, sexism. likewise potential policies mitigating misogyny similar online discourse.
